----------------------Prayer Points-------------------

The SPIRIT of the LORD moves in mysterious ways...

        Here's a message that will bring you chills. Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said;

    "I'll pray for them later?"

Or has anyone ever called you and said

I need you to pray for me, I have this need!"
Read the following story and may it change the way that you may think about prayer and also the way you pray.
You will be blessed by this. . .

A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan .
"While serving at a small field
hospital in Africa , every two weeks I
traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point.

On one of these journeys, I arrived
in the city where I planned to collect money
from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies,
and then begin my two-day journey back to
 the field hospital.
Upon arrival in the city, I observed
two men fighting. One of whom had been
seriously injured. I treated him for his
injuries and at the same time talked to him
about the Lord.
I then traveled two days, camping
overnight, and arrived home without incident.
Two weeks later I repeated my
journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was
approached by the young man I had treated.
He told me that he had known I carried money
and medicines. He said;

      "Some friends and I followed
you into the jungle, knowing you
would camp overnight. We planned
to kill you and take your money and
drugs.

But just as we were about to
move into your camp, we saw that
you were surrounded by 26 armed
guards.

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.

The young man pressed the point,
however, and said;
'No, sir, I was not the only person
to see the guards, my friends also saw
them, and we all counted them. It was
because of those guards that we were
afraid and left you alone.'

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if  he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story:

"On the night of your incident in
Africa , it was morning here and I was
preparing to go play golf. I was about
to go when I felt the urge to pray for
you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was
so strong, I called men in this church to
meet with me here in the sanctuary to
pray for you. Would all of those men
who met with me on that day stand up?"

The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw.

            There were 26. . .

This story is an incredible example of how the
SPIRIT of the LORD moves in mysterious ways. If
you ever hear such prodding, go along with it.

Nothing is ever hurt by right prayer.

If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world
toward God once again. As the above true story
    clearly illustrates;

""WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE".

More importantly, how God hears and answers the

    prayers of the faithful.

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you
today. To guide you and protect you as you go along
your way. His love is always with you, His promises
are true, and when we give Him our cares you know
    He will see us through.

So when the road you're traveling on ---seems

difficult at best, just remember I'm here praying,
and God will do the rest.

 TESTIMONIES

Our God is an awesome God... He reigns.

Waiting in Faith

19-year-old Kristina Merginio shares how waiting patiently and faithfully on the Lord goes a long, long way.

kris1.jpg

"Kris", as she is more fondly called by her friends, is an incoming senior at Miriam College and is one of the leaders of the CIF Youth Ministry. She is known--and loved--by the people around her because of her quick wit, happy disposition, and boundless energy.

Also a committed member of the CIF Dance Ministry, Kris' boundless energy comes in handy during dance rehearsals. Her "infectious" energy never seems to run out! When she's not dancing up a storm, Kris likes to play her guitar or read inspirational books.

Recently, Kris got back from a month-long "adventure" away from home and brought back not just pasalubongs but also testimonies of God's faithfulness and provision in her life. This is her story.

Answered Prayers

Kris learned about the Model Unied Nations of the Far West (MUNFW) conference when she was just a freshman in college. She has been praying about it ever since. She even asked her close friends and family to pray that she'd be able to join it. The said conference would serve as the on-the-job training of their course.

After three years, Kris' prayers were answered! She was chosen as one of the delegates for the MUNFW.

"Since it is a school event,I had to [undergo] the screening processes conducted by our school and their deliberations..." Kris shares. "I also have to surpass an almost year-long training for the MUNFW conference. I [had] to balance training while studying my lessons at the same tine."

By God's grace, despite the hustle and bustle of the trainings and deliberations, Kris was able to make it to the Dean's List that school year.

Kris also had to face the nerve-wrecking interview at the United States Embassy. She needed to pass the interview in order to get her Visa. But the biggest challenge, according to her, was gathering the finances.

"With God's provision, I was able to solicit enough money from my supportive relatives and family friends to go to the States." she said.

In the Zone

It was Kris' first time to be miles away from home for that long. She confessed that she felt afraid and doubtful. She was alone and she was far from the comforts of home.

"Coming out of my comfort zone is realy hard especially since I became used to having them [my family] around." she quips.

Aside from this, Kris had to face the challenge of reaching out to the "seekers of Christ" and to listen to and spend time with them. It wasn't easy for her to deal with them because they came from different cultures. But spiritually speaking, she had the most difficulty with being faithful to God.

"I wasn't able to go to church for one month..." she said.

Kris terribly missed going to church. Although there was a church in the area where she was staying, her grandmother said that they could only go if someone would take them. Also, Kris had to go wherever her relatives went--and they went to a lot of places.

"But with that, I learned that as a born-again Christian, the church is where God brings you...it is where you do His ministry, worship Him, and glorify Him in whatever you do and experience."

Crossing over

It was an experience full of crossing over for Kris. She was a different person when she came back from the US. Kris believes that she became more mature.kris2.jpg

"I became more mature and tolerant of the opinions of other people especially since I have to talk to around a hundred people in the conference and try to compromise some of my ideas with them." she said.

She also learned to be independent of her family. But the distance from her family strengthened her dependence on the Almighty God. She made it out of her shell and became a risk-taker.

The only constant thing

Change is the only constant thing, so the sayig goes...and it's safe to say that a lot of things changed about Kris.

"For one, my figure changed as I gained a few pounds after a month of non-stop eating!" Kris said with a laugh. "But seriously, I really became more confident after my US trip. I also became less of a speaker and more of a listener..."

The trip made this young lady feel even more proud of her Filipino roots and the colorful culture that goes with it. She realized the value of simple things such as the family eating together or chatting on the way home.

All things are possible

This whole experience deepened and strengthened Kris' faith. After quoting her favorite verse in Jeremiah, Kris shares:

"God's plans are far greater than what we may ever expect or imagine. It may be different from what we want but it will always be for our good. He may even give us bonuses along our journey."

Kris had to wait for three years but she trusted God's goodness and said that we should learn to wait patiently and faithfully.

"Nothing is too big, too hard, too complicated, and impossible for God."

This young lady went through a lot of praying and hard work before her prayers were answered. But with much faith and patience, she succeeded and she was blessed beyond what she expected. This only goes to show that it does pay to wait on the Lord.- Joy Rayo
